Senior Accountant

Pennybacker Capital is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its dynamic, entrepreneurial team located in Austin, Texas.  This role will provide exposure to a variety of areas within the Finance, Accounting, and Reporting team including accounting and reporting for the management company ownership, fund accounting, and institutional reporting.  Pennybacker Capital is a rapidly growing private equity firm that invests in real assets in high growth markets of the United States.  Pennybacker’s stellar reputation of performance and integrity has produced a stable investor base ranging from major institutions to high net worth individuals and family offices. We are looking for a highly motivated, qualified professional with a proven track record of achievement and teamwork to join our Finance team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform aspects of accounting and reporting for ownership of the management company. Liaise with various parties to gather appropriate data and investment information; prepare quarterly reporting package as well as information needed for federal and state tax filings.
  • Prepare specialized quarterly performance reporting to institutional investors; facilitate completion and delivery of investor information requests in coordination with Investment, Portfolio Optimization, Capital Formation, Data, and Finance teams.
  • Assist with daily activities related to fund accounting, including the preparation of fund workpapers, financial statements, and partner capital account statements.
  • Support the CFO and Head of Accounting with ad-hoc projects and tasks.


QUALIFICATIONS—REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting and 3+ years relevant experience; advanced degree or CPA preferred
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities
  • Strong technical skills in accounting and finance with advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player who is comfortable being in a support role and comfortable accepting and providing constructive feedback
