Mr. Berry is the Founder, President and CEO of Pennybacker Capital, LLC, a real estate private equity firm he founded in 2006. Pennybacker has sponsored four discretionary real estate private equity funds within its value strategy, as well as joint ventures and syndicated investments within its credit and income and growth strategies. Mr. Berry is the Chairman of the investment committee for each strategy. The firm has offices in Austin, TX, Denver, CO and New York, NY.

Pennybacker Capital is an early adopter of emerging technologies in both real estate and investment management, implementing new and innovative technologies, including the proprietary knowledge and data management system Pennybacker αTM, as well as the Pennybacker Analytics platform.
Pennybacker αTM provides access to investment information and risk metrics in real-time. Pennybacker Analytics, a proprietary web-based platform, utilizes machine learning to anticipate market and investment dynamics. In addition, Pennybacker Capital’s innovation committee evaluates and implements emerging technologies and tools. As part of this team’s initiative, partnerships with real estate venture capital firms are evaluated and formed to provide the firm access to the latest advancements in real estate technology.
Mr. Berry holds dual MBAs from Columbia Business School and London Business School. He completed his undergraduate studies in Accounting at the University of Houston and earned a Master's degree in Professional Accounting from McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Berry is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, Columbia Business School Real Estate Circle, Young Presidents' Organization, Forbes Real Estate Council, and is the Chair of the Executive Council of the Real Estate Finance and Investment Center at the University of Texas at Austin. He also previously served on the Small Scale Development Council of the Urban Land Institute.
