Pennybacker Capital is seeking candidates to join its dynamic, entrepreneurial team. Headquartered in Austin, TX with offices in Denver, CO, New York, NY, and Charlotte, NC, Pennybacker Capital is a forward-thinking real estate private equity firm that invests in transformational opportunities across multi family, office, and industrial assets in select high growth markets across the United States. We utilize high quality data analyses, predictive analytics, and artificial intelligence tools to identify key investment themes and use that information to target the best assets therein by bringing to bear our investment expertise. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and team-oriented individual with a passion for identifying and solving complex problems and a drive for continuous improvement.

Due to our operationally intensive approach to value investing and investor-first culture, our interns are essential to all aspects of the investment process including research, underwriting, due diligence, planning, oversight and execution. Essential Functions

Investments

Financial analysis and modeling
Market research
Competitive property analysis
Physical and financial property due diligence
Collaborate in the preparation of Investment Committee materials
Assistance in the execution of transactions
Research of current and new investment themes and strategies
Ad hoc projects, white-papers, and presentations

Portfolio Optimization

Collaborate in the execution of investment business plans, including design, branding, construction, and operations
Portfolio property tours to observe status of business plan and identify new opportunities
Competitive property tours and market analysis to identify competitive strategies
Financial performance reviews and proforma updates on current portfolio
Data analysis using internal financial and performance data in Pennybacker Alpha
Ad hoc projects, white-papers, and presentations

Qualifications– Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Pursuing degree in a relevant field
Specialized technical problem solving and ingenuity while working within approved organizational systems and technologies
Demonstrated ability to think creatively and identify new and innovative solutions to existing process and methods
A demonstration of strong interpersonal skills, excellent time management, communication, organization and personal effectiveness skills
Proactive team player with the ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities and manage complex projects while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
Motivated self-starter with a high level of personal integrity and business ethics
Strong research capabilities with an aptitude and willingness to use new technologies that add efficiencies to internal processes
Good technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
